Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is often called a trance. Your attention is so focused while in this state that most of what is going on around you will be easy to temporarily block out or ignored.

The process of hypnosis involves a deep mind and body relaxation. This relaxation phase is actually an altered state of consciousness that leads to a heightened focus and with it a higher susceptibility to suggestion.

Hypnotherapy sessions are usually carried out in a calm, relaxing and safe environment free from interruptions.  As I do most of these sessions online you would need to create this safe space for yourself prior to our session.

Our sessions will follow this general pattern:

  • A preliminary talk.
  • Induction of an altered state of consciousness.
  • Deepening of the trance state; which is known to open up suggestibility.
  • The hypnotherapy journey as determined by the preliminary talk.
  • Termination of the trance state and a reflective discussion.

The preliminary talk will be an opportunity to briefly discuss expectations and past experiences of hypnosis, as well as to clearly define the specific problem to be worked on. Oftentimes, these problem areas include behaviours, thoughts, belief systems that you desire to be transformed or changed completely.

I have been trained in client-centred hypnotherapy meaning that I take my lead from you – meeting you wherever you are in your process without leading in directions that do not resonate with you.  While hypnotherapy is a powerful modality for change, you will never do something that is outside of your value system which means I cannot make you do something that you do not want to do!

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions about any aspect of the process.

Investment: R750/90 minute session.
